Sadie Leigh Rothman

Sadie is a dancer, performance artist, and teacher born and raised in the DC/Metropolitan Area. She began her dance training at the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange in Takoma Park, Maryland, where she studied performance, choreography and leadership in dance for 10 years. As a dance major at the University of Maryland, she had the good fortune and great joy of working with such amazing artists as David Dorfman, PearsonWidrig DanceTheater, Jen McGinn, and Adriane Fang, to name just a few. She also enjoyed several opportunities to create and present original choreography.

In 2011, Sadie stumbled into a life-changing love affair with Pointless Theatre Company. As a company member, she has since worn a variety of hats, ranging from dancer to membership coordinator to choreographer to assistant director.

Sadie has been quite literally living dream, creating, playing, and working as a dancer with fantastic local companies and choreographers, including Kelly King's Contradiction Dance, Sarah Beth Oppenheim's Heart Stück Bernie, Kiera Hart-Mendoza's UpRooted Dance, Claire Alrich, and Stephanie Miracle. She teaches a weekly all-levels modern dance class every Sunday at Yoga Heights in Northwest DC, and has been thrilled to offer classes as a guest teacher at the Dance Exchange and for The Collective in Baltimore.

As a life long lover, performer, and maker of dance, Sadie has always found her bliss in the heat, strength, and mobility that comes from focused physicality. She brings this purposeful playfulness into her "day job" as a yoga teacher at several studios in Washington, DC.
