Drex's Take

Hey all-
It's been over a year now since I've danced onstage here in DC--so I'm really happy to announce that I'm returning to the stage this weekend back with my homies in Contradiction Dance :D
So, I know what a lot of you are thinking about dance: oh, it's so boring. It's self-serious, doesn't do anything interesting, and thinks it's more important than the audience. Here's the thing: we agree with you! This is a show that not only confronts those issues of the dance world, but delightfully skewers them with great aplomb in addition to exploring issues of empathy, our capacity for understanding, and what the hell the deal is with our shoes!
On a personal note, it also features a duet between myself and a local actress (she was actually in House of Cards!) that I think is probably my favorite thing I've ever helped choreograph :)
The show is called "Walk A Mile" and we're at the Anacostia Arts Center for the next two weekends. Please come out and support us!

When: 3/14,15,21, and 22 at 8 PM and 3/16,23 at 3 PM*

* So many options! When should I go? Well, right now we're hurting for ticket sales for the Sunday shows, so if you can make those, it would help us out a lot of if you'd hit one of those.
